| Thousand
Oaks, CA—April 8, 2004, TECOM
Industries, Inc., a TRAK Communications
company, today announced that Boeing has
awarded a contract for delivery of 15 INMARSAT
T-4000 Aero-H High Gain Antennas (HGA) to
meet FY 05 C-17 Secure Enroute Communications
Program-Improved (SECOMP-I) program requirements.
Boeing is the prime contractor to integrate
the U.S. Army's Secure Enroute Communications
Package - Improved (SECOMP-I) into the C-17
Globemaster III aircraft. Follow-on awards
are scheduled for FY 06 and FY 07 for 15
ship sets per year totaling $2M.
The T-4000 High Gain Antenna is an electronically
steered phased array system that exhibits
superior performance characteristics.
The T-4000 system fully supports all forms
of data and voice communications over
the INMARSAT satellite network. The T-4000
HGA consists of five primary assemblies
including an electronically steered phased
array, a beam steering unit (BSU), a LNA/Diplexer,
a radome, and a base plate which provides
a mating interface to the airframe.
As the world's leading airlifter, the
C-17 can carry large combat equipment
and troops or humanitarian aid across
international distances directly to small
austere airfields anywhere in the world.
Nearly 120 C-17s are in operation today,
flown by the U.S. Air Force, the U.S.
Air National Guard and the United Kingdom's
Royal Air Force. Boeing is on a multi-year
procurement contract to design, build
and deliver 180 C-17s through at least
2008.
A leading supplier of antennas, positioners,
and control systems for the airborne,
wireless, defense, and satellite communications
markets, TECOM offers a complete line
of INMARSAT-certified antennas that meet
or exceed the Aero-H, Aero-I and Aero-L
service specifications. TECOM antennas
allow for real time airborne SATCOM connectivity
by providing voice, e-mail and web access
for both military and commercial customers.
