14 , 2004, TECOM Industries, Inc.,
a TRAK Communications company, today announced
that AAI Corporation has awarded the company
a major contract for approximately $2.4
million in support of the Shadow
Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV)
full-rate production program.
Shadow TUAV systems provide
the U.S. Army with excellent capabilities
to provide reconnaissance and tactical
information to ground forces. Shadow systems
have been successfully deployed by the
Army in Operation Iraqi Freedom, providing
critical support to coalition forces.
TECOM is a major supplier
to AAI Corporation for the Shadow TUAV
production program, providing small aperture
antenna assemblies for Ground Data Terminals
(GDTs) as well as dual element C-band
and S-band antennas for the aerial vehicle.
The GDT antenna assembly consists of a
positioner, controller, and parabolic
feed assemblies that provide the critical
command, control, and sensor connectivity
of the TUAV to the ground control station.
TECOM is a leading supplier
of medium- to small-aperture pedestals,
positioners, and antenna control systems
for multiple applications such as telemetry
and portable surveillance systems. TECOM's
current line of mobile and transportable
antenna systems serves diverse markets,
including Range Telemetry, Remote Sensing,
