Order for 30,000 TECOM antennas to support Iridium handset phones now in motion.

Thousand Oaks, CA—June 17, 2003, TECOM Industries, Inc., a TRAK Communications company, today announced the company has been awarded a major contract for a total of $2,145,000 by Iridium Satellite LLC in Arlington, VA. Under this contract, TECOM will produce a total of 30,000 antennas for the Iridium handset phones, widely used for both military and commercial applications.

Iridium's state-of-the-art wireless phones use both terrestrial wireless networks and the Iridium satellite network to allow a user to communicate from anywhere on the planet. TECOM was involved in the initial design of the antenna as a joint effort with Motorola and is now taking a major role in the design and development of next generation Iridium antennas.
